Marius Moldvær
Silver Tongue and Gold Teeth
25. September – 25. Oktober 2025
The exhibition Silver Tongue and Gold Teeth presents new works by Norwegian artist Marius Moldvær (b.1985, Aurland), whose practice spans textile, photography, sculpture, and text. Moldvær’s work often repositions familiar themes—such as belief systems, cultural symbols, and notions of body and landscape—into unexpected forms and contexts. Through thisprocess, alternative narrative structures emerge, inviting viewers to question how stories aretold, understood, and embodied.
In Silver Tongue and Gold Teeth, Moldvær continues his exploration of subjectivestorytelling through spatial installations, text works, and textile-based wall pieces. His practice often merges traditional handicraft with contemporary concerns, whether throughlarge-scale embroidery that echoes religious iconography, or through textile and photographic assemblages that disrupt cultural and gendered stereotypes.
Marius Moldvær holds an MFA in Critical Theory and Creative Research from Pacific Northwest College of Art, Portland, and a BFA in Photography from the National Academyof Art, Bergen. He has exhibited widely in Norway and internationally, including at Kabuso(Øystese), Soft Gallery (Oslo), Palmera (Bergen), Barents Spektakel (Kirkenes), GAFFA(Sydney), and Feldman Gallery (Portland, USA). Alongside his artistic practice, he has contributed to publications such as Billedkunst, KORO, Metode, and The Plantation, and has lectured at institutions including the Oslo National Academy of the Arts and PaTaTaPhotography Festival (Granada, Spain).
